2013.0132 YOUTH AFFAIRS RECORDS [1971-1993] Creator(s): Mason, Jacqui [-], Social Policy Archive [1993-1997] This series was created by Jacqui Mason and contains reports, handbooks on youth work training, minutes of the Youth Policy Development Council meetings, publications such as the Youth Affairs Journal and other documents and materials retained for her use and reference. The records reflect the breadth of Ms Mason’s professional interests and activities. Jacqui Mason was a lecturer in Youth Work at the former Philip Institute and was involved with the YWCA for many decades. Ms Mason was also a member then subsequently president of the Victoria State Coordinating Council during the 1980s. The series was transferred from the RMIT Social Policy Archive where it had been transferred in the 1990s as part of a collection strategy to capture the records of community sector organisations operating in the welfare sector. Within the SPA, these records were identified as series 103. It was the practice of the SPA to item number material in order of its receipt irrespective of the series it was later allocated; these item numbers and generally their order have been retained. No series description was found in the SPA records for this series and it appears that the collection was received towards the end of the SPA’s active life. 8 Units, (1.7m) Community and Political, organisations
