This series comprises the minutes of the committee of management meetings, financial records, correspondence, a published history and other official documents relating to the foundation and operation of the Greig Smith Memorial Library and related fund, established by the CWS to commemorate the life and work of Mr Stanley Greig Smith (1884-1970). The library was merged into the then Department of Community Services Victoria library in 1985 and the committee of managment ceased to operate. These records were transferred by the CWS to the RMIT Social Policy Archive where they were brought under their system of archival control, prior to their transfer to the UMA.
