These papers consist of copies of the initial submissions made by various bodies to the Academic Salaries Tribunal's general review of academic salaries in Universities and Colleges.  The submissions are mainly from bodies representing academic staff, but also include submissions from the governments of South Australia and the Commonwealth. The tribunal stated that copies of submissions were to be distributed to other "prime parties".  The AVCC had placed an initial submission before the tribunal. The papers were forwarded to members of the Academic Staff Advisory Committee by the Executive Officer of the AVCC in September 1980.
