Sir David's Secretary annually transferred the non-current committee papers from Sir David's office.  The papers were placed in folders and labelled within Sir David's office.  The papers of all committees which Sir David attended are included in the series. The papers occasionally contained summaries of matters to be brought to the committees' attention, usually from the Secretary to the committee. Notes from various senior administrators occur in these papers - e.g. the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Vice-Chancellor.  These notes occur most frequently for those committees chaired by Sir David. The later papers have been culled and only those containing material additional to that contained in the official record have been retained, for example where Sir David has annotated pages etc.
