Birthday and election congratulatory messages and replies. This series contains congratulatory letters, cards and telegrams to former Prime Minister J M (Malcolm) Fraser from friends, political colleagues, staff and members of the public on the occasion of his 50th birthday (21 May 1980) and in relation to the return of his Liberal-Coalition Government at the election on 18 October 1980. The series also includes a smaller number of congratulatory letters and cards relating to Mr Fraser's birthday in 1982. In most cases, copies of replies are attached to the incoming correspondence. Some items are currently held at the National Archives of Australia (see list for details). Formerly National Archives of Australia series M1362.
