Records created during the publication of Lily Brett's 'Things could be worse' by Melbourne University Press under the Meanjin imprint in 1990. Jenny Lee edited the book. Records comprise eight draft manuscripts of the book; two sets of galley-proofs; correspondence between Brett and Lee (all 1990); correspondence between Brett, Lee and MUP re contractual arrangements and the book launch. Also, two draft manuscripts of Brett's 'What God wants'; copies and newscuttings of reviews and articles by and about Brett; six computer disks; one audio cassette; and two US art journals.
