This collection comprises several thousand glass plate negatives (full and quarter), as well an extensive collection of lantern slides pertaining geology, and teaching lantern slide sets. Within this collection there is a discrete set of 1339 lantern slides which were used by Sir Raymond Edward Priestley (1886-1974), Geologist, Polar Explorer and First salaried Vice-Chancellor, (01/01/1935 - 30/06/1938) during his Australian lectures on Polar exploration. Raymond Priestley's lantern slides have been digitised and are available online.
