2007.0060 PAPERS OF LUCY FRANCES KERLEY IN RELATION TO THE NATIONAL GALLERY ART SCHOOL [1870-1990] Creator(s): Kerley, Lucy Frances [-], National Gallery Art School [1867-1973] In 1973 on her retirement, Lucy Kerley commenced researching the history of the National Gallery School where she had been a student for a time and edited its student paper. This acquisition consists of the records of the National Gallery School which she gathered, along with her notes and ephemera regarding the School. She left these records and her papers with the Library of the Victorian College of the Arts, the successor to the NGS.They were transferred to the University of Melbourne Archives sometime after the amalgamation of the VCA with the University of Melbourne. The collection comprises student rolls and registers, student magazines, photographs, manuscripts, research notes, draft chapters for The History of the National Gallery School (unpublished), minutes, newspaper cuttings, exhibition catalogues, correspondence, trustees reports, original drawings, sketches and art work, architectural drawings, account books and ephemera.
