This document or quitclaim was written by the owner of a property in which he disclaimed any right of inheritance, including any claims his relatives might make in the future, while formally granting the land to the purchaser. Thus the new owner protected himself from being sued from wrongful occupation by a relative of the grantor at some later date. This quitclaim was from "John Peters the deed of grant + confirmacon (after a bargaine + sale) unto John Blackman of Lands and tenements called Barons in Little Woodham [Mortimer] + Purley in Essex."
