The files in this record were originally boxed by the Liberal Party (Victorian Division) as they ceased to be current, in a numerical sequence from number 1 on. The files themselves were therefore boxed in a random order, and later conceptually rearranged in the attached Finding-Aid. 

Only a proportion of the boxes were transferred to University of Melbourne Archives in 2001. Some were retained and transferred in 2005, and some were not transferred at all. The box numbers in the Finding Aid attached are not in numerical order as it shows the conceptual order based on file content and date range. 

One hundred and seventeen boxes numbered 1 to 177 are listed in the Finding Aid.
