2010.0011 Records of Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archives [1967-2001] Creator(s): Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archives [1982-] When the initial 126 collections held by the Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archives (VWLLFA) were moved to the University of Melbourne Archives (UMA) in 2000, the VWLLFA Collective commenced preservation packaging and listing of specialist formats. Many of the initial 126 collections held posters, t-shirts, textiles and other memorabilia, all of which needed specialist housing. In particular, many banners initially created for demonstrations were left in the Women's Liberation Building when it closed in 1992. They were saved by the Women's Liberation Switchboard Collective and subsequently included in the VWLLFA. Many banners had been organized and labelled by Jean Taylor, and they were preservation packaged once deposited in the UMA. Banners, posters, textiles and other specialist formats were removed from their original collections to preservation packaging and listed together. The banners, textiles, t-shirts and memorabilia were also photographed for reference. Details of their original provenance and VWLLFA numbers were carefully recorded along with their new UMA registration numbers. The specialist lists hereby catalogued are: Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archives: Posters Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archives: Banners, T-Shirts, Textiles and Memorabilia Three albums of photographs of Banners, T-Shirts, Textiles and Memorabilia Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archives: Photographs and Badges.
