Research material includes files on White's research grants and a set of his collected published scientific papers. Teaching material includes examination papers for subjects in bacteriology and virology on various courses over extended periods (1963-1994), selected student results and statistical returns, arrangements for teaching in Papua New Guinea, lecture notes and course material, including laboratory manuals and summer schools and correspondence and reviews relating to text books co-authored by White. Administrative papers include a selection of White's correspondence as Head of Department, papers relating to his appointment as President of Professorial Board and Academic Board (1977-1978), The Bugs Bulletin (departmental newsletter, 1970-1973), minutes of departmental staff meetings (1977-1994), a small amount of material on facilities and buildings and a file on the Heather Jenkin (departmental library). White's professional service are documented through the Australian Society for Microbiology, and numerous external committees and advisory roles. There are also selected talks and general articles. The collection inclues video recordings of White's Festschrift and an audio recording of speeches and White's reply at his farewell dinner at Ormond College, 13 February 1995.
