Signed photograph of Nobel Prize winning scientist Arthur Harden which was given as a gift to Professor Young, Professor of Biochemistry, at the time when biochemistry formed part of the Department of Physiology. In 1938 Young became the University's first Professor of Biochemistry. The photograph was presented to Young in recognition of his work on glucose metabolism.
