| This series comprises the reference collection of publications relating to social policy and social welfare in Australia in the period 1962-1988. Each file contains a specific publication or series of publications ranging from government studies and statistical data to professional studies and reports. Two files contain information gathered from the USA and the UK. The bulk of the series dates from the 1970s. The collection was created by the CWS Executive Director, Miss Elizabeth Sharpe and was originally transferred to the RMIT Social Policy Archive as series 62. Items originally held in RMIT boxes 287-288 and identified as belonging to this series were found to be better attributed to RMIT series 57 (CWS Letter books), as they comprised Miss Sharpe’s correspondence in this period. There is no original order apparent in the files and it is possible the publications were placed into files only when accepted into the RMIT SPA. There was some rearrangement of the records during UMA processing, leading to the movement of files from RMIT box 155 to RMIT box 180 (Unit 1); the movement of files from RMIT box 190 to RMIT box 184 (Unit 5); and the movement of files in RMIT boxes 292 & 336 to a new box (Unit 7). |
