| Documents in this collection were arranged by MEAA prior to their deposit. The date ranges indicate a relationship with MEAA, Actors’ Equity, Actors and Announcers Equity of Australia, Australian Theatrical & Amusement Employees Association (ATAEA) and/or Australian Journalists Association (AJA). The contents comprise of Equity and related committee meeting minutes (c.1970-2003), contractual agreements with cast and crew member remuneration, Executive Council and/or Committee decisions, safety reports, production synopses, shooting schedules, cast listings, crew member details, Import Applications and Nominations for overseas entertainers to perform in Australia, award rates and pay schedules, file notes, information memorandums, memos and correspondence relating to production concepts, and newspaper clippings relating to film and television productions (1958-1999). Also includes reports and Policy Statements relating to the ‘Hoyts Cinema Dispute’ and unfair dismissal claims (1980s). Financial Statements and reports relating to the Victorian Actors’ Benevolent Fund (1963-1979); memorabilia including a programme for ‘The Lord Mayor’s Tivoli Command Performance Melbourne 1964’; photographs; Judiciary Committee Meeting Minutes (1992-1993 & 1997); Review of the Code of Ethics Survey, and correspondence relating to complaints of violations of ethics, and subsequent appeals to the Judiciary Committee for breaches of conduct in relation to the Journalists’ Code of Ethics (1980s-1990s). Industrial relations papers and correspondence relating to disputes and resolutions, awards and conditions for live theatre and television productions including those for the Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC), Chunky Move, The Australian Ballet, and the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC), TVW 7, Networks 9 and 10 and SBS (1954-2003). Other administrative records relate to Victorian Branch Matters and include financial records such as Cab Charge books (1995), invoices and cash receipts (1991-1998), as well as motor vehicle insurance papers (2 files 1993–1998 & 1992–1997), lists of magazine and organisation subscriptions, and correspondence. Early ATAEA records include General Theatrical Award (GTA) books of arbitration commission proceedings (1928-1931 & 1963-1974). |
