History : |
The first documented meeting of the Faculty Budgets Committee was conducted on 14th February 1975. Although it is apparent that the Committee met prior to this, there is no record of minutes to be confirmed from previous meetings. The terms of reference of the Committee required it to make recommendations to the Faculty Executive Committee on all matters associated with the budget and in accordance with the Faculty Financial Policy. Issues covered were: continuing education course fees; the expansion of the Dental Faculty; departmental allocations; course funding; departmental votes; budgets policy; short term staffing; contingency funding; course costings; departmental requests for funding; casual pay rates and higher duty allowances. In 1982 there were discussions concerning the ramifications for the Committee of the report of the working group on faculty budgeting. This may explain the fact that the Committee apparently ceased to opetrate after September 1982, although there is no reference in the minutes to plans to wind it up. |
