United Peace Council
History : A short-lived Victorian co-ordinating committee established to raise funds and generate public support for the Australian delegation to the 1936 Brussels Peace Congress. Its other objective was to encourage the co-operation for permanent and universal peace. The United Peace Congress was the forerunner and defacto organising committee for the World Peace Congress, from which developed the International Peace Campaign.
