Biography: Jan Gladys Testro was born in Melbourne in 1953. She disliked school and failed Year 12 twice. After leaving school she worked at Walker Press, in a factory and as a motor-cycle courier. While living in Western Australia in the 1970s she worked in community education centres and was active in feminist lesbian politics. Returning to Melbourne she helped to organise the Amazon Games and Lesbian Art Works exhibitions from 1996-1998. She also participated in producing publications for the Matrix Guild.
