Salon A Muse
History : Salon A-Muse commenced in 1982 to revive the art of conversation amongst women following the model of Natalie Barney (1876-1972) who turned her house in Paris into a Salon for women for over sixty years. Salon A-Muse was to be a place where poets, dramatists and speakers were on an equal footing with their audience to develop conversation and share experiences The Salon was an instant success, attracting 80 women to its first meeting instead of the expected 30. It ran until approximately 1984. This is collection no. 138 of the Victorian Womens Liberation & Lesbian Feminist Archive.
Activities/Occupation: Feminist collectives
