Moffat, Alexander
Biography: During the first decade of the 20th century Moffat was engaged as a marine engineer and later ship's captain. Item consists of a photocopy of a typescript of his diary for the period January to November 1904 during which he was engaged on the m.v. Hygeia, an excursion vessel operating on Port Phillip Bay and owned by Huddart Parker & Coy, later signing on with the S.S. Victoria in the Australian coastal trade.
