Milston, Ernest Edward
History : Born E.E. Muhlstein in Prague 1893 and educated at the Univ. of Prague 1910-1916 and the Academy of Fine Arts 1918-1919. After graduation Muhlstein worked as an architectural draughtsman in Vienna and then joined as a principal in partnership with Victor Furth Architects firm in Prague from 1920 to 1939. In 1940 Muhlstein migrated to Australia and was briefly employed as an architectural draughtsman, a civilian draughtsman for the Army and then enlisted in the Australian Military Forces. After he was discharged in 1946, Milston designed a range of buildings throughout Vic. and Australia, some in partnership with D.H. Fulton, incl. Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance forecourt and the Mary Kathleen Uranium New Town Project.
