Foord Family
Biography: Born in Brighton, England in 1819, Foord immigrated to Australia, first settling in Parramatta, then in 1839 moving to take up land at Wahgunyah on Victorian side of the Murray River. By 1856 he had established the township there, by 1859 a flour mill, by 1861 the township of North Wahgunyah (later Corowa) across the river and by 1865 the paddle-steamer service. He died in 1883. 'Goojung' was the Foord/Kilborn family residence and vineyard at Wahgunyah.
