Ferguson, Jean
Biography: Jean Ferguson was born in Scotland in 1954. She was a member of women's liberation and consciousness-raising groups at Edinburgh University (1973-76), the Aberdeen Rape Crisis Centre, the Women for Peace Camp and a Radical Nurses' Group, in Scotland. After migrating to Australia she joined Women for Survival, the Perth Rape Crisis Centre and radical nurses' groups (1984-87). By 1988 she'd joined a reclaim the Night collective and the radical Action Group in Alice Springs. Ferguson helped organise the 1990 and 1991 International Lesbian Day celebrations after moving to Melbourne in 1989 and was a founding member of the Performing Older Women's Circus.
