Elkas, Sara
Biography: Sara Elkas was born in Haifa, Israel in 1949. Since arriving in Australia in 1969 and moving to Melbourne in the early 1980s, she has worked as an occupational therapist, working with people with intellectual disability. She has been involved in a number of women's liberation activities, including Women Against Rape, the Women's Liberation Switchboard and the Women's Liberation Building (q.v.). Elkas is a foundation member of the Jewish Lesbian Group of Victoria, the Matrix Guild of Victoria and the Performing Older Women's Circus.
