Dyason, Diana Joan

Biography: Diana Joan Dyason, BSc 1943, MSc 1945, was born 1919, the daughter of Edward Clarence Evelyn and Anne Dyason. Appointed as a demonstrator in the Physiology Department of University of Melbourne in 1943, she trans- ferred to the Department of General Science (later the Department of the History and Philosophy of Science)where she became senior lecturer from 1957 to 1965. Dyason was in charge of the department from 1958 until appointed Reader and Head of Department in 1965. She remained Head until 1974 and Reader until her retirement in 1984. In 1967 Diana Dyason was the foundation president of the Australasian Association of the History and Philosophty of Science. After her retirement from the University she was appointed as a Research Associate. Dyason died 30 Sep 1989.
