Dennys Lascelles Ltd
History : The wool broking business was established by C.J. Dennys in November 1857. It expanded in 1875 when his son-in-law, Harwood Lascelles, became partner and subsequently the company was named Dennys Lascelles and Company. Harwood Lascelles was later to figure prominently in the opening up of the Mallee country. There was a further change of name in 1881, to Dennys Lascelles Austin and Company with the entry into partnership of Sidney Austin. Michael Conran was also admitted into partnership in 1889, along with George Young of Young Bros. Horsham. In 1912 the company was reconstituted as a public company under the name of Dennys Lascelles Ltd. It is now in the Elders group.
