Colonial Gas Association Ltd
History : Formed in 1888 as The Australasian Gas Association Ltd., it became Colonial Gas in 1893 with local founding shareholders, Melbourne engineer John Coates and Ballarat ironmonger W.H. Eyres. The firm later acquired a number of provincial gas companies throughout Australia.
