Bairnsfather, Bruce
Biography: Captain Bruce Bairnsfather was a regular soldier and engineer in the English Army and served in World War One. While stationed in France, he began sketching humourous illustrations that depicted army life and soldiers in France. This was later published by The Bystander The Bystander magazine at the end of the war and entitled 'The Bystander's Fragments from France'.
