Young (nee Tait), Mary E.
Biography: Mary Young (nee Tait) studied Arts from 1955 to 1958 at the University of Melbourne. In the late 1950s and early 1960s students were becoming interested in contacts with Asia. Mary went on a student delegation to India in early 1959 before returning to Melbourne and studying Social Work from 1959-1960. In 1961 she became the Travelling Secretary for the Australian Committee of the World University Service. She studied in India from 1962-1964, and then became the National Union of Australian University Students (NUAUS) for the Australia-Overseas Travel Scheme from July 1964 to March 1965.
