This series contains the business records of Margarita M. Hanson from her period directing Editions de l'Oiseau-Lyre. Margarita Hanson's records appear in two parts: a MMH series and a Library Desk Cabinet series. The MMH series was ordered and a list prepared by Davitt Moroney on 11 June 2004 and left in the office next to the series with the following note 'Margarita Hanson’s Oiseau-Lyre files from Paris, sent to Monaco in 2004 for eventual sending to Australia.’ These files were all prefixed MMH and numbered sequentially. They contain 77 loose folders of records and correspondence regarding the Trustees; correspondence with the University of Melbourne; Oiseau-Lyre Jubilee 1983 and Margarita's trip to Australia in 1985 amongst others.
The second part of the records are from the Library Desk Cabinet. They consist of blue document folders and miscellaneous files, evidently from Margarita Hanson's time at l'Oiseau-Lyre, stored in the main library/office quite separate from the MMF series and clearly prepared for dispatch to Melbourne. They consist of correspondence and contracts with the University of Melbourne; correspondence and documents regarding the upkeep of Rue Basse, Monaco-Ville; correspondence with musicologists, clients and others. Files have been organised as they were found. |
