Political and personal correspondence, annual alphabetical series. This series was maintained in the Prime Minister's office during the Prime Ministership of J M (Malcolm) Fraser. It contains correspondence relating primarily to representations from members of the public; the Wannon electorate; business, church and other community groups; Liberal Party branches and some Liberal Party colleagues. The items held at the University of Melbourne Archives cover the period from December 1974 until October 1975. The representations cover a broad range of subjects such as industrial relations policy, the 1975 election, immigration, Commonwealth funding of medical research, unions, income tax, unemployment benefits, the Australia Council, postal services, the Tasman Bridge collapse and Vietnamese refugees. A number of items are currently held at the National Archives of Australia. Formerly National Archives of Australia series M1256.
