Creator(s):
- Fraser, John Malcolm [1930-2015]
Papers relating mainly to the personal, election and travel expenses of J M (Malcolm) Fraser during his Prime Ministership. His electorate secretary maintained the records in the Prime Minister's Office. They cover the period from November 1975 ('Caretaker' Government) to March 1983 (the end of Mr Fraser's term in office), although some papers date back to June 1971. The series includes Mr Fraser's electoral expense claim forms (1971-76), travelling allowance claim forms (1975-83), papers relating to travel entitlements for spouse and dependent children, campaign programs for the October 1980 Federal election, lists of Liberal Party poll workers and some congratulatory messages from constituents following that election. The series also includes Department of Defence procedures for handling Parliamentary, Ministerial and Cabinet papers, as well as various newspaper clippings on the March 1983 election loss. Two items are currently held at the National Archives of Australia (see list for details). Formerly National Archives of Australia series M2196.
