A.B. (Alan) Ritchie correspondence. Family correspondence including letters from Alan’s father and from Alan’s high profile friends such as R.G Casey and Douglas Copeland. Topics include political events such as the Russian Revolution, China in 1946 and changes of Prime Minister in Australia. Business and financial records created during the period when Alan Ritchie managed the company: financial statements, ledgers and cash books. Other notable records include wills, records relating to Alan’s service in the British Navy and the Australian Navy and reports from technical and scientific studies.

Letters and correspondence are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the person or body corresponding to or with Alan Ritchie or the subject being corresponded about, for example, A – D. Tabs or markers were used in some files to indicate the next body being corresponded with. Separate files were created for each person or organisation corresponded with. Financial statements are arranged in date order.
