UM996. Visitors' Book, The Vice-Chancellor's House, University of Melbourne, 10 July 1938-10 October 1967. This volume documents the social contacts made and maintained through visits by successive Vice-Chancellors on behalf of the University with leaders in government, religion, the armed services, the medical profession and the universities. It begins in 1938 with the opening of the Vice-Chancellor's house under Sir John Medley, and closes at the time that Sir David Derham became Vice-Chancellor in 1968 when a new visitors' book was commenced.
