Alan Prest (1919-1984) was also a distinguished economist. Alan was born in Yorkshire in 1919, he was educated there and at Cambridge, where he returned after war service. In 1964 he took a chair at Manchester, and from 1970 until his retirement in 1984 he was Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics. Wilfred and Alan Prest maintained a steady correspondence. |
