The records of the VTHC described here were originally filed within the Council's classification schemes, and were selected for permanent preservation using the VTHC Retention and Disposal Schedule. See appendix 1 of the list for details of the classification scheme and its evolution.
The VTHC records documented in this list were created within a filing system which ceased in 1989. The scheme continued to follow the earlier practice of giving a classification number to each type of transaction, and creating a new file every year, for transactions within that number. In this list, the files created in 1985 precede those created in 1986 and so on.
The files in this list complete the record series transferred to Archives in 2001 and therefore start at Box Number 401. See Reference No. 2001.0020 for records up to 1984.
These records were transferred at the same time as those of Reference number 2010.0052 for the 1977-2010 periods.
The files in the list attached are arranged by Year, File Classification Number, Category, File Title, Box Numbers, and General Notes. Requesting Box numbers is the easiest way to retrieve these files for reference. |
