Letter from Superintendent Francis Hare to Mrs Josephine Smith apologising for his failure to visit her house. Superintendent Hare was shot in the wrist by the Kelly Gang (which included Ned Kelly) during the siege at Glenrowan; he wrote this letter during his convalescence. Dates: 21 July 1880.
