2014.0074 FILE REGISTRATION CARDS ("MASTER INDEX") TO CORRESPONDENCE FILES, MULTIPLE NUMBER SERIES 1967-1982 Access: Restricted
The file registration cards record the file number and file title. The occurrence of parts of files is rarely noted. Initially the series was conceived as both a file registration system and movement system. The movement function had ceased to be recorded by about 1972, the amount of space provided on the side of the card being inadequate. Red stamps indicate which files have been "archived". 2014.0075 REGISTRATION CARDS FOR INCOMING MAIL ("RECORDING CARDS") 1982-1983 Access: Restricted
As mail was received in the central Registry, it was classified and then recorded onto these cards. Each piece of incoming correspondence was recorded. The cards record the year, the card heading, date received, date of the letter, who the letter is from, a precis of contents (usually 1 or 2 lines), card number, the file onto which the correspondence was placed and to whom the file was referred. 2014.0111 THE RENTON FUND 1951-1971 Access: Restricted
Rupert Gordon Renton, Leading Aircraftsman RAAF, of 172 Munro Street, West Coburg, who died on 30 September 1944, bequeathed to the University his residuary estate “ for the purpose of rendering assistance to needy students”. The funds became available from 1947. part of the original capital was used to assist ex-servicemen from 1948-1950.
