The volumes are arranged chronologically. Within the volumes the correspondence is chronologically accumulated in divisions dictated by the destination of the correspondence. From its inception in July 1965 until July 1969, Mr Ferguson held the position of Secretary to the Administrative Committee. For that period this series contains agenda, draft minutes, minutes, often the originals of documents placed before the Committee as attachments to the minutes and copies as well as some drafts of correspondence written by the Secretary on instructions by the Committee. 2014.0073 DAILY LISTS OF MAIL RECEIVED BY THE ACCOUNTS BRANCH 1965-1981 Access: Restricted
These lists were recorded daily by the Accounts Branch from January 1966. They were received by Mr Ferguson initially in his capacity as Accountant and the practice appears to have continued once Mr Ferguson became Bursar. The lists constantly record who the correspondence is from, the date of the letter, to whom the correspondence was forwarded and the subject matter of the correspondence. This series includes a mixture of "white copies" and photocopies of correspondence annotated by Max Ferguson. There is also some original correspondence bearing original handwritten entries. The files are organised alphabetically according to the name of the department or organisational entity in question and hence provide a good overview of the relevant functions and activities. The majority of the records comprise Ferguson's handwritten notes from Administrative Committee meetings that were annotated when he held the role of Deputy Vice-Principal.
