In September 1971, Professor Wright visited China as the guest of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for four weeks. On his return, he made two audio tapes containing a lengthy description of the state of medicine in China, and comments on general conditions in China at the time. 1988.0007 WRIGHT, ROY DOUGLAS (1907-1990) 1978-1983
On 3 December 1977 Mrs. Rosa Simper was murdered in Cheltenham, an Adelaide suburb. On 3 March 1978 Edward Charles Splatt was arrested and subsequently charged with the murder. On 24 October the trial commenced, Splatt being convicted on circumstantial evidence, much of it 'scientific', and sentenced to life imprisonment.
