Australian Psychological Society
History : The Australian Overseas Branch of the British Psychological Society was formed in 1945. In 1966 the affairs of this body were taken over by an independent Australian Psychological Society. Both organizations have functioned through a central body as well as through state groups or branches. In addition the more recent organization has set up a series of divisions for special interest groups. Major activities have been the publication of journals, the holding of annual conferences and the monitoring of the status and standards of the profession.
