This collection documents the exhibition called 'A Bitter Song', which grew from a multicultural art project organised between 1985 and 1986 for the Australian Bicentennial. The project, originally called '3 Cities, 3 Cultures', was initiated by the Union of Australian Turkish Workers in Melbourne, F.I.L.E.F. in Sydney and the Multicultural Arts Committee in Adelaide. In 1987 F.I.L.E.F. withdrew and the Australian Bicentennial Authority funding was cancelled. The project went ahead between the Melbourne and Adelaide communities. |
