Correspondence, A-Z 1923 -   ; BHP invitations; estate papers; diaries; itineraries; Lawn Tennis Association of Australia material 1952-4; material relating to membership of other clubs. In 1962 Essington Lewis' son Bob (RB) opened negotiations with BHP for large collection of his father's personal papers.  BHP divided the collection into three groups:   1.  BHP material, retained by the company; 2.Papers relating to EL's work as Director-General of Munitions and Aircraft Production, placed with the Victorian Division of Australian Archives [microfilm at UMA, see 1978.0104];  3. Personal papers which were sent to UMA.
