Women And Children In Transition
History : Originally called Women in Transition, Women and Children in Transition (WACKIT) first met on June 14, 1978 as a support group for women going through marital breakdown. WACKIT initially functioned as a self-help group to assist and advocate for women around the issues of custody and support of children; it later concentrated on the effect the Family Law Act had on women and their treatment in the Family Court. WACKIT disbanded in July 1982. This collection is No.40 of the Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archive
