Vickers Ruwolt Pty Ltd
History : Charles Ruwolt established a foundry and engineering works at Wangaratta, Victoria, in 1902. He initially manufactured windmills and farm machinery, later expanding to construct mining dredges. The growing business led Ruwolt to move to Melbourne in 1913. From dredge manufacture, the firm diversified into other products, including rock crushers, armaments (1940-1945), brewing machinery and toolmaking for automobile manufacture. Vickers Ltd. acquired Ruwolt in 1948 and the firm became known as Vickers Ruwolt Pty. Ltd.
