Biography: |
Born in New York in 1931, Pat Longmore moved to Melbourne in 1957 to become head of the history department at Korowa Church of England Girls' Grammar School, 1957-1958. She was Chairperson of the Melbourne Film- Makers' Co-operative, 1972-76, on the editorial board of LIP, feminist visual arts magazine, 1976, and was director of the Melbourne Women's Independent Film Festival (1975), the Internation Lesbian Film Festival (1990), the Midsumma Festival (1990) and the International Lesbian and Gay Film and Video Festival (1991-92). She was also co-curator of the Melbourne Fringe Festival (1989) as well as licensee of the Kingston Hotel in Richmond (1980-1988). From March 1992 until her death later the same year, she was co-editor of the publication 'Lesbiana', (q.v.)
