Greenwood, John Neill
Biography: Born in 1894 in St. Helens, Lancs, Greenwood was appointed to the new Chair of Metallurgy at the University of Melbourne in 1924, which he held until 1945. In 1946 he was appointed Research Professor of Metallurgy and from 1957-1959 was Dean of Applied Science. In 1960 he was appointed to a Personal Chair, retiring in 1964. In 1962 Greenwood participated in the Royal Commission to enquire into the failure of King's Bridge, Melbourne. He died in 1981.
