Biography: |
Rhonda Galbally (born in 1948) studied economics and began her career as a teacher in the secondary and tertiary systems. In the early eighties she was policy director of the Victorian Council of Social Services (VCOSS). In 1982 she became executive director of the Sydney Myer Fund and the Myer Foundation. She then went on to become the founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of several organizations, including Australia's Commission for the Future, VicHealth/Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, The Australian International Health Institute (now the Nossal Institute ) at the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine where she became Independent Chair of the Council on Australian Governments (COAG) inquiry into Medicines, Poisons and Controlled Substances and from 2000 to 2009 founding CEO of www.ourcommunity.com.au.
Rhonda was a member of the committee which in 2006 recommended a Victorian Human Rights Charter.
Rhonda is currently advising, public speaking, coaching and mentoring-individuals and organisations governments at federal, state and local levels, corporations and non government organisations on a wide range of leadership, governance, social policy, health development and corporate responsibility issues.
