Creator:
Amalgamated Society Of Carpenters And Joiners, Melbourne City Sub Branch
History : This ASC&J was the second union to use this name, which it took over when the first ASC&J was deregistered in 1948-49. This ASC&J was an anti-communist break away from the first ASC&J and became federally registered and strongest in Victoria and South Australia. Remaining active and opposed to the earlier union, now called the Building Workers Industrial Union, it went on to amalgamate into the Federation of Industrial, Manufacturing and Engineering Employees FIMEE in 1992, and then into the Australian Workers Union as its Building, Construction and Joinery Branch in circa 1996.
Activities/Occupation: Trade Unions
